10 Ways You Can Help Build A Better World

10 Ways You Can Help Build A Better World

In today's world we're constantly bombarded with negative information, and it's easy to get overwhelmed and discouraged, especially for the millions of people now focused on transforming our world. One common question I have been asked when I discuss my ideas for building a better world ( https://kimberliijackson.wixsite.com/serendellion/single-post/2017/01/04/Life-could-be-so-much-more) is "What can we do?". There are countless things we can each do to help manifest this world into reality, but here are 10 I have chosen to further explore.

1)Raise Awareness

Raising awareness, although it can be daunting at times, is one of the most important things we can do. We can't remain apathetic and indifferent while the people in power recklessly destroy our planet in their blind pursuit of profit. What's critical to keep in mind is that information, in itself, is neither positive or negative. All awareness is positive, and all ignorance is negative, as it leaves us vulnerable and uneducated. Although the subject of the information may be negative, our power to transform it to positive remains. Energy, which is what the world is made up of, can always be transformed, and when the overwhelming majority want it to be transformed and take action to transform it, it WILL be transformed. So, next time you get annoyed at another negative post from one of your friends trying to raise awareness, keep that in mind. It may have been more pleasant to remain ignorant, but at what cost?

2)Teach Your Children

Meaningful education can only be achieved at home. Institutionalized education has its value, yet it takes away so much from our children and indoctrinates them to believe that authority is always right, and that by default, they should always assume they are wrong. This is why it's so essential to provide a supplementary narrative at home for your children. I always tell my child that everyone is wrong sometimes, and no one is immune to it. Even answer keys are sometimes wrong.

Another thing I tell my child is to always stick up for the right thing to do. She was recently wrongly accused and punished for doing something she didn't do, because a fellow student lied to the faculty about her doing it. Instead of sticking up for herself, she was intimidated, and took the punishment, because one of the faculty members wouldn't listen to her. Many parents would be compelled to go to the school and solve it themselves, but I told my child she needs to speak up, even when intimidated, if she is in the right, always. I wrote an email to her teacher explaining the situation, and told my child she needs to speak to him first thing in the morning. The next day, the problem was resolved quickly. Sadly, this happens to many students in institutionalized learning centers, and they just take the punishment, or are forced to take it.

You should also vigilantly dismantle any lies you are aware of the schools teaching your kids, like "Ramen Noodles are a healthy snack", and "We're a democratic nation". It took me decades to unlearn the lies I was taught in school, and I aim to help my children always be able to unlearn and relearn as needed.

3)Keep Learning and Exploring

This is essential, and sadly, many of us give up on the pursuit of knowledge in rebellion against the force feeding of information in unengaging and monotonous manners we were exposed to as children. Yes, they taught you the most boring subject matter to you in boring ways, but surely there are things that still rouse your curiosity now, especially now that you have the power to explore anything with the internet. You can easily find the answer to practically any question you have about the world.

You may not be able to afford a college education, but that doesn't mean you can't get an education. You can get practically any book out at your local library, a resource many have forgotten, yet one that is one of the most essential to self-education. There are so many how-to videos on YouTube now, you can learn how to do almost anything, and if you can't find it there, you can perform a simple search and find various sources of information. The important thing here is to free up enough time in your life to do this. Not all device time is wasted time, especially if it is spent learning, networking, or spreading knowledge. Learning is the best thing that you can do to help yourself.

Self learning is just as important as learning about your world and the things that excite you. You must spend time alone to analyze the things that make you uncomfortable, and understand them to the point where they no longer make you uncomfortable. Emotional intelligence has been largely neglected in our society, and must make a comeback in order to build a better world. Processing your emotions so that you're completely comfortable with them is essential to finding inner peace, which is in turn, essential to creating world peace.

4)Write

I never imagined myself writing as a career. The notion chose me. I found it to be the best way for me to express myself clearly and completely without losing my train of thought in a discussion. I had written poetry for 16 years as a form of expression, and started a few novels over the years, but never had the drive and motivation to follow through. After years of introspection and self-improvement, I finally found a meaningful purpose to drive me and inspire me, and fuel me to finish the projects I start: the desire to change the world for the better. I always desired it, but I was always told that I could never change the world, it was hopeless and that I was crazy to think I could.

The saddest part is I believed it. We each change the world just by being born into it. It should be every person's mission in life to change the world for the better, for it will make every person's life better. This should be our main focus right now, because if we don't concentrate on it, it is headed towards destruction, and that would be the greatest tragedy in history, because we have the power and means to transform it into paradise now, if we all cooperate. We all want this underneath it all, why not band together to make it really happen? Writing, in combination with the internet, is one of the most powerful tools to spread ideas in existence.

5)Boycott Corporate Interests

Sadly, our governments have become tools for corporations and the obscenely wealthy to keep control and privatize their profits. There is literally only one way to stop this, and that is using money as little as possible. Obviously I do understand that most of us need money at this time just to survive. It's an obscene thing to think about: We need to work to pay to survive right now. Many of us are unaware that this is slavery.

So what do we do to dismantle it? Obviously our governments aren't doing anything to help us here. They just keep us fighting amongst ourselves (divide and conquer tactics), presenting us with two main options to vote for, which pacifies many of us by giving us the illusion of choice of who our owners are, and distracts us by perpetuating the arguing, when in reality the two groups always do the same backdoor things, while one is less about human rights, causing a large distraction among the population, and the other is more about it. They need the contrast to distract you from the true fight: us vs. our owners. It's like tv wrestling: a show.

The choice should be simple: we don't need owners... No one should ever be given the power and ability to become so corrupt, therefore no one should rule. This whole charade is a complete waste of time. We need to disband all government and keep a worldwide police force to stop the true criminals: people who harm others and harm their ability to thrive. There would be no more war, unless we had some alien force try to invade us, but in my opinion, it is highly unlikely that an alien species would become interstellar before destroying itself, unless it became benevolent.

So, to dismantle this ancient organization of society, we need to depend on money as little as possible, become sustainable within each family, and help each other become sustainable; something that was never possible before now. And we can do it, if only we all decide to work for it.

6)Get Sustainable

It's so expensive to get sustainable these days, and it's no accident. Sustainability undermines the power companies, the food companies, and ultimately the banks. Most of us can't afford the available commercial options, so we end up not trying to build our way there. The key to solving this conundrum is making it affordable for all. Have you ever heard of a man named Nikola Tesla? He tried to give humanity free energy, and was stifled by the power industry in the early 1900's. He had developed a method of tapping into perpetual energy that was even simpler than solar energy and available both day and night. Sadly, he died poor and alone because he pursued bettering the world over profits.

Since his death, many other scientists and inventors have developed similar technologies, only to be stifled, bought out or to end up dead under "mysterious" circumstances. The key is getting this technology to the world freely. If anyone discovers this technology again, we need to spread it to the world like a virus, just leaving a blueprint of it and instructions to build it cheaply on everyone's devices. We could also use paper to make endless copies, as the internet is probably well monitored and the information could be compromised. This renders the idea immortal, because you can kill a person, but never an idea.

In the meantime, we should aim to post as many cheap innovations in sustainability open-source, and online, on YouTube, and in as many places as possible. Spread it endlessly and if you know how to do it, help others build it. I recently read an article on a young man who built wind turbines in a poor village out of plastic bowls. We need more of this. Community gardens, food forests, and community groups that work on projects such as this worldwide would be helpful. Grassroots projects are the key here, because if we wait for the governments to help us, we'll be dead.

7)Open Source Knowledge

The overwhelming majority of us in the world want free college education, but there's a solution to provide it without actually going through government and institutions: open sourcing knowledge. If each of us gave away the wisdom we've garnered on this earth for free, like the apprenticeships of old, but on a larger scale, on the internet, colleges would become obsolete. Yes, there are those who value the namedrop of a prestigious university, but it's obvious to most people that a college education alone doesn't equate to true wisdom and knowledge. Hands-on experience is much more valuable than a certificate or diploma. At first, employers may be dismayed by the lack of degree, but "the proof is in the pudding," and in my experience, experience is more valuable and meaningful than a sit-down, instructional education.

So post videos of how to do things you know how to do well. Take on people in your community who want to learn your trade, and teach them. This empowers the people. It's much more valuable than money.

8)Grow Your Produce

Again, growing your own produce can be very expensive to start up, which is why many of us don't know how or can't do it. This is where we can help each other. Start an organic community seed bank and soil source. Help teach others in your community how to grow vegetables. Help a less advantaged family start their own garden. Get community groups to work on this together. Set aside a space for a community garden to help families that contribute to working in it, or if the family doesn't have time to work in it because they work too much and still can't afford to eat, give it away. Build food forests in every town. Teach canning, and recycle jars for the community to can foods. Teach cooking from scratch. Raise bees. Use pesticides that deter animals, as opposed to killing them. Create free online classes on how to do this and the most cost effective ways to do this. Knowledge is power, and this will provide the healthiest, cleanest foods for your community, for generations.

9)Community Projects

The importance of community and community projects cannot be stressed more. The hardest part is getting everyone to cooperate without drama and arguments. Many people avoid their community because it is full of judgmental, hateful people who hurt others and glorify those that do so. These are the things we need to fight the most. Disengage with gossipers, call out judgmental people and don't accept this behavior within your community. Find as many peaceful, loving people as you can and band with them, so together you can become mainstays in your community and spread the love. Keep religion out of community events. Religion divides us. All religions value love, and that's what unites us. Have respect, compassion, and good will towards all in your community, and strive to improve it together. One day it will be common knowledge that politics is fake and divides us, but until then, keep politics out of these community projects.

10)Network

Community networking is very important, but there is a more powerful, more extending form of networking we have today: the internet. As important as your immediate community is, the online community, the world, is even more important. The more people we help, the more people they can help, and so on, and so forth. Our personal reach has become much wider than ever before. We can positively influence the lives of others around the world, just by extending ourselves. Join online communities and be active within them. Find groups with the common mission of bettering the world and team up. There are much more of us than there are those who would sooner destroy the world for monetary profit and dominance. The world we envision is much more fulfilling to every single one of us, even those who seek to control, than any world they imagine. This is the reason our vision is bound to succeed. They will one day realize it is the best, most intelligent way to a one world community, and to achieving each person's, and humanity's true potentials.
